How We Used Zoom© and Trial Technology to Help Our Client Prevail in a Virtual Arbitration
Preparation was our key to our success.
We recently provided litigation consultation, visual strategy, demonstrative development, and presentation support for a client in a contract dispute arbitration conducted entirely over Zoom© video conferencing service.
There were three challenges that we had to tackle to maximize our prospects for a favorable outcome:
Communicate our story visually with clear and effective demonstratives.
Present a focused and succinct narrative to maintain the attention of the arbitrator.
Spotlight the evidence required to support a judgment in favor of our client.
Preparation was our key to success. After helping our client craft a litigation strategy that focused the narrative on the critical evidence, we developed a visual strategy, prepared compelling demonstratives that supported the evidence, and provided trial technology support throughout the arbitration.
On the first day of the arbitration, our trial team was prepared with 135 demonstrative slides consisting of illustrations, document callouts, photographs and other evidence that laid out our narrative and timeline of events. We also utilized trial technology software to present our evidence quickly and to provide the arbitrator with a seamless professional presentation.
On the opposite side of the “virtual table”, our opponents did not prepare a single demonstrative or use any trial technology to present their evidence.
The result? Our client was the prevailing party in the arbitration and was awarded a judgment that will allow them to continue their financial success.
